An Occupational Therapy bathroom assessment looks at how a person moves in and out of the bathroom, uses the shower and toilet, and manages daily tasks safely and confidently.
Bathrooms are one of the highest fall-risk areas in the home. Wet surfaces, tight layouts and transfers can increase the risk of injury. An assessment identifies where these risks exist and how they can be reduced through appropriate disability and aged care bathroom modifications.
The assessment supports people living with disability, older adults, and people recovering from injury or illness. It also provides clear functional justification for NDIS, aged care and rehabilitation funding pathways.
